MURAT French Sterling Silver Mistletoe Chatelaine Rattle Pendant XMAS Ornament

So please see my other listings and check back often! You can find my other Holiday items - great for yourself or gift ideas for others, here. Beautiful art nouveau design on both sides of this little antique French silver rattle. Disk shaped rattle decorated with mistletoe and a round handle.

It would be beautiful as an ornament or could be removed from the handle and worn as a large pendant. Beautiful raised mistletoe details on both sides. It has two loops, one smaller one and then a larger / thicker one connecting it to the white handle. This is a solid silver French piece dating to the turn of the century / Art Nouveau era. Made by prominent maker Charles Murat of Paris who started silversmithing in the late 1800s.

The piece measures 3 inches in height from the bottom of the circle to the top of the loop handle. The handle is about 1 5/8 inches wide and the round silver rattle portion about 1 3/8 inches across. It weighs 13 grams but obviously not all silver weight with the white handle. The piece has the boar's head punch for French solid silver items and the Charles Murat maker's mark on the loop. Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition.

There is a crease at the bottom like all rattles have, but it continues up towards the loop on one side and not the other. Slight ripple to the crease. A very shallow fingertip size impression on one side from being pressed together and a few pinhead dings and nicks around the edges mostly.

Some discoloration and a few nicks / scratches to the white handle. It does still rattle well, but it is kind of a tinny rattle sound.
