Vintage Gorham Sterling Butterfly Medallion Ornament Pendant. Highly detailed, pierced sterling silver pendant featuring a delicate butterfly with flowers in repousse on a 2 11/16th inch diameter stylized circle. Although designed by Gorham as jewelry, the "Butterfly Medallion" has become very popular with sterling silver Christmas ornament collectors.
I believe these came out in the early 1970's. Pattern is inverted on the back of the pendant. It is hallmarked 37 Gorham Sterling on the bottom edge. It is in very good condition. There are surface scratches from use and polishing, and the mark is VERY lightly dented inwards. There are no dents, dings, bangs, scrapes or bends in this lovely piece. As with all vintage silver, may require proper polishing upon receipt depending on your preferences.The butterfly is a symbol of transformation or change, love and joy.
