Wonderful boxed set of twelve Antique Glass Christmas Feather Tree Ornaments from the early 1940's Germany. A variety of shapes and styles d eep indent reflectors, rose bud, lanterns, strawberry, flower basket and bulbs in bright colors. All are in excellent vintage condition with no damage incredible considering their age. Box shown in last photo is included.

Twelve Antique German Glass Christmas Feather Tree Ornaments. Unsilvered and Silvered Hand-Painted, Blown Glass. Mercury Glass Flower Indent Reflector painted pink and teal 1.5.

Unsilvered Embossed Rose Bud painted teal 1.5. Mercury Glass Embossed Lantern painted cobalt blue 1.75.

Mercury Glass Flower Indent Reflector painted pale green 1.5. Unsilvered hot pink bulb painted white grid pattern 1.5.

Mercury Glass Embossed Ringed Bell painted green with a dusting of glitter 1.75. Unsilvered pale yellow bulb painted white sponge and stripe pattern 1.5. Mercury Glass Flower Indent Reflector painted teal around open and a hot pink center 1.75. Mercury Glass Flower Indent Reflector painted hot pink around open and a teal center 1.75. Embossed Flower Basket painted hot pink basket and pink and green flowers 1.75.

Embossed Mercury Glass Strawberry painted pink 1.75. Unsilvered Embossed Lantern clear glass covered with'white sugar' 1.75.

Reflective and radiant, "Reflectors" are the capturers of light. A brilliant glow is deeply reflected with the finely molded center of the indent creating a prism of color from the ornaments surrounding it. Considered one of the oldest and most traditional styles of Christmas ornaments, reflectors are also one of the most difficult styles for a glassblower to master. Reflectors are both a wonder of creation and a celebration of the joyful Christmas spirit.

In days gone by, reflectors were also referred to as the "witch's eye", to ward off evil spirits. Often called "Fantasy Pieces" or "Museum Pieces, " ornaments such as this reflect the traditional methods of days gone by. These ornaments are the result of knowledge, concentration, dexterity and love of detail. O nly a master blower can coax the thin glass into such unusual shapes; only expert hands can paint with finesse to add the intricate details necessary. This special glass ornament is a work of art, an exquisite tribute to the past.

These Antique German Christmas Feather Tree Ornaments are in wonderful condition considering their age. Made in the early 1940's. Please remember that these ornaments were lovingly used and handled. With some scratches in paint, loss of paint due to wear, oxidation near and of. The caps and loss of silvering.

Original metal caps which have oxidized. They are ready to hang and will display beautifully on your Traditional or Feather Christmas Tree this year.
