David Strand Designs Vintage Collection: "Spintop - Gold/Silver", #DSD1020901. Mouth-blown and hand-decorated exclusively for David Strand Designs in Germany in 2010. Spintop - Gold/Silver is a complex vintage drop ornament comprised of a ball with reflector, a saucer shape and a spiraling icicle form. This vintage-style ornament is the product of a master glassblower. The ball at the top of the ornament was painted using a rich, deep gold lacquer and the saucer shape was painted using a shiny silver lacquer. The spiraling icicle form was painted with alternating bands of gold and silver lacquers between raised ridges. The deep and detailed reflector in the ball was painted with a striking color scheme using bands of rich red and silver lacquers with a red starburst center, creating a focal point for the ornament. Fine silver glitter was used to create the flame pattern surrounding the reflector, to divide the three elements of the ornament and to highlight the edges of the saucer and icicle form.
