Vintage Cartier Sterling Silver + Wood Drum Christmas Ornament + Pouch + Box

This is a vintage Cartier sterling silver and wood drum Christmas ornament. It comes with the original Cartier pouch and Cartier box. The top and bottom of the drum are sterling silver.

The center section is wood veneer. There is twisted sterling silver cording crisscrossing the center in a V pattern. The top has a sterling silver loop on one edge of the drum. The underside is marked "Cartier Sterling".

Cartier made other musical instrument ornaments around the same time, including a violin and a guitar. I do not know the type of wood used. The drum measures approximately 1 1/2" across and 1 1/2 " tall.

The hanging loop is approximately 1/4 tall. I left the silver tone cord that i used to hang the ornament on. The drum has no dents, dings, dimples, scratches, or discolorations. It has superficial rub marks. I gave it a hand polish.

I have not made a tree in years and this ornament has been stored away in the pouch and box. The box has chafed corners and bottom seams. The red gloss on the box has flaked off in areas.
