1975 Gorham American Heritage Sterling Locomotive Ornament. Sterling Silver Hard To Find Very Nice Condition! American Heritage Publishing Company commissioned Gorham Silversmiths in 1972 to create a line of sterling silver ornaments based on historical themes and items to be issued annually. Christmas Locomotive Steam Engine was the 1975 offering. Inspired by mid nineteenth century American Weathervane Designs, this handsome ornament is finely wrought sterling.
This stately engine is ready to chug its way right to your tree. Ornament is in excellent condition with no damage, wear or issues of any kind, however, may exhibit very light scratches consistent with age and polishing. There is a very slight indentation on the back. This is appropriately hallmarked and comes with original tarnish resistant pouch and Gorham box as shown. It is 2 3/8 inches tall and over 4 inches wide at the widest point.
